Is Golden Key Driving School a ministry approved course provider?

Yes, Golden Key Driving School is a Ministry-Approved Beginner Driver Education Course Provider.

Will I get a discount on my insurance?

You may be eligible for a discount, please contact your insurance company for more information. A Driver’s License History (from Service Ontario) will show proof of successful completion of this approved BDE course, and graduates with a DLH are eligible for an insurance discount.

What if I miss an in-car lesson?

Please contact your instructor 48 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. Lessons in-car can be made up by rescheduling with your driving instructor.

How do I schedule in-car Sessions?

Make sure that you have completed your online course first. Once that's completed, please email us to schedule your in car-lessons.

How do I book my G2 road test?

You can book your road test by visiting www.drivetest.ca or by going to an exam center in person.

Can I register for the BDE course without having a G1 license?

Yes, you can register and complete the theoretical (online) portion of the course. However, in order to do any in-car lessons, you must obtain your G1 license first!

Will there be more than one student in the vehicle?

No, all lessons are One-on-One with an instructor unless a special request is made by both students to be together.

How do I get my certificate for my insurance?

Once you complete your course (online and in-car), and we certify you to the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, you will have to go to Service Ontario and request a 'Driver's License History Report'. The Driver's License History provides proof of successful completion of and graduation from a BDE course. BDE graduates with a DLH (Driver's License History) may be eligible for an insurance discount.
